Jacob J. Cecere graduated from Duke University in 1983 and from the University Of Baltimore School Of Law in 1987 where he was a Law Review staff member. Mr. Cecere served as law clerk to the Honorable Frances M. Cocchia of the Superior Court of Essex County, New Jersey. From 1988 to 1989, Mr. Cecere served as the manager and legal counsel to a real estate sales and management company in northern New Jersey. Mr. Cecere joined the law firm formerly known as Gilberg & Kurent in Washington, D.C., in 1989. During his tenure there, Mr. Cecere primarily was involved in the fields of tort-defense litigation and insurance coverage defense. During this time, Mr. Cecere acquired extensive experience in defending and successfully trying cases in the District of Columbia, Maryland and New Jersey, in addition to successfully resolving a significant portion of his cases through mediation and arbitration. In March 1998, Mr. Cecere established his own law firm and then formed Spigelman and Cecere, LLC, in 1999 with Mr. Spigelman.
Mr. Cecere is admitted to practice law in the state and federal courts of the States of Maryland and New Jersey and in the District of Columbia.
